Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has renamed the Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil after business mogul, Aliko Dangote.
It will be recalled that former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau had renamed the university after Aminu Dantata at the tail end of his tenure, but Rabiu Kwankwaso reversed the directive when he was re-elected as governor of the state in 2011.
The state Commissioner of Information Commissioner, Comrade Muhammad Garba, disclosed this in a statement signed to pressmen in Kano.
According to him, the university will henceforth be known as Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST) Wudil.
Comrade Garba, however, disclosed that the governor has already transmitted a bill to the State House of Assembly to effect the name change.
