The management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has assured students of the institution that the inadequate power supply being experienced on campus would soon be a thing of the past.
The newly-appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Clement Adeofun, gave this assurance during familiarisation visits to units and centres under his office.
Prof. Adeofun noted that the university has purchased a very high powered generator which can supply electricity to members of the university community.
During the tour to ascertain the level of development at institution’s water processing company, Prof. Adeofun urged members of staff to appraise the management of the challenges facing them in order to proffer workable solutions to them.

The Director, FUNAAB Universal Conservices Limited (FUCONS), Dr Petra Abdulsalam-Saghir, appealed to management to look into the issue of electricity which has affected the cost of production at the company.
She, however, said the production of the sachet and bottled water had commenced.
Abdulsalam-Saghir asked the management to deploy more staff to the company to increase the product level so as to meet the increasing demand by customers.
During the visit to the FUNAAB Industrial Pack Unit (IPU), Prof. Adeofun, said the management will address the issue of difficulty in getting the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) registration number for their products including palm-wine and cashew nuts.
While noting that the inability to obtain adequate bottles for palm-wine production will be addressed, Adeofun said buses in good conditions will be provided to ensure the prompt delivery of goods and services.
