FULL LIST: Rema, Davido, Asake, Yemi Alade win at Trace Live Awards 2023

Nigerian Afrobeat acts Rema, Davido, Asake, Yemi Alade, and Burna Boy have each won different categories of nominations at the 2023 Trace Live Awards.

 

Davido won two awards in Best Male Artist and Best Collaboration categories with his song “Unavailable,”  with Musa Keys to beat other contenders like Fireboy DML, Oxlade, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and two other acts. 

 

Rema cupped two awards for song of the year with his song  “Calm Down” and best global African artist (in a tie with Nomcebo).

 

Asake won Best African Anglophone Artist, while Burna Boy went home with the Album of the Year Award with his project “Love Damini.”

 

Yemi Alade remained the only female Nigerian Artist who went home with an award in the Best Video Category. 

 

The Trace Live Awards 2023, held in Rwanda, Kigali, was introduced by the platform Trace to honour outstanding Afro-influenced musicians across the African continent. 

In addition to the competitive categories, a lifetime achievement award was given to 2Face, and Mr Eazi (Nigeria)
