Four people including two commercial sex workers have been confirmed dead after a private car rammed into a stationary vehicle in Ondo, killing all the four people on the spot.
The accident which occurred around Yaba street in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West local government area of the state,after a heavy downpour.
It was gathered that the accident involved a Volvo car with registration number, Anambra 265 AAH and a truck with registration number Lagos 858 EKY occurred around 10:30 pm on Sunday while the victims were said to be returning from a social function before the car lost control and killed all the victims.
An eye witness said “the driver of the Volvo car was coming from the Agbogboke axis of the town while he lost control and hit a commercial motorcyclist rider before veering off the road and rammed into a stationary truck parked by the road side.
“The driver hit two ladies in the process while he eventually lost his own life in the accident and it took the effort of the people around here to remove his remains from the car.”
It took the intervention of the men of the police command from the state to remove the victims from the scene of the accident.
A police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity attributed the accident to reckless driving and urged motorists and drivers to always observe the traffic rules.
