The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Professor Innocent Uja has said that the institution will be matriculating 230 students on Friday, November 5.
Professor Uja stated while addressing newsmen at a press briefing to herald the matriculation ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor who explained that 230 students have so far registered expressed optimism that more students may still register before the day.
He further said that of the 230 registered students, and 100 were admitted into MBBS.
Professor Uja said that the institution had taken off with nine programs which he mentioned to include, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Environmental Science.
The VC said that the University is poised to produce world-class graduates and stressed that the students would undertake drug test.
“The maiden matriculation of this University holds on Friday and 230 students have so far registered and we are expecting more students.
“We have put everything in place to ensure that that the University produces world-class graduates and of the 230 students admitted, we are fortunate that the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria graciously allowed us to admit 100 students for MBBS.
Speaking on recruitment of staff, the Vice-Chancellor said 22,000 applications were received out of which 350 were to be recruited.
“We received 22,000 applications, we planned to employ 500 but were given provision to engage 350.
