Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has flagged off the dualisation of Ilawe road project in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area of the state with a promise that no part of the state will be left out in the administration’s development efforts.
In a press statement delivered in Ado-Ekiti on Friday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governor said two other major towns in the local government would also be accommodated for some projects in next year’s budget.
Fayose added that the N300 million project would be completed by October this year, financial obligations on the part of the government notwithstanding.
“This project was conceived out of love for this community. You are a strategic community and your sons and daughters are playing great roles in our state and one of them, Deacon Dele Adesina, (SAN) came to appreciate me when he heard about this project.
“It will be inaugurated by October this year. This will not be the only project that will be executed in this LG. Two other communities in the LG would benefit next year. We will put street lights too. I thank the monarchs for their support. Good governance starts with the people and we must not allow some undesirable politicians to come and begin to buy votes during elections,” he stated.
The governor urged the people of the community to support his administration in providing more dividends of democracy for them.
In his speech, the Alawe of Ilawe, Oba Ajibade Alabi, commended the governor for the project.
“We appreciate Mr Governor for what he has done for us. We are delighted that during his tenure this road is being dualised. We are so thankful and appreciative and we pray that God will continue to guide you,” he said.
The monarch also requested the governor to pay attention to the rehabilitation of Ilawe-Ikere Road.
