The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a new mandate requiring all citizens to pay for E-Tags at all 24 federal airports across the country, effective May 17, 2024.
This initiative follows the Presidential Directive that mandates the use of E-Tags for accessing the nation’s federal airports.
In a statement released on Thursday, FAAN informed the public that the E-Tag payment system will be operational starting this Friday.
Travellers will be able to purchase their E-Tags before accessing the airports.
The statement read, “Following the Presidential Directive that all citizens are mandated to pay for E-Tags at all 24 Federal Airports across the country, we wish to inform the general public that the E-Tags are available for sale from Friday, May 17, 2024.”
FAAN also mentioned that there will be an option to pay in cash at the Access Gates for motorists without E-Tags.
Motorists without E-Tags will be required to pay as they pass through the gates.
The E-Tags can be obtained at the following locations:
- Lagos: Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, Terminal 1, 5th Floor, Office of HOD Commercial. Contact: 08033713796 or 08023546030
- Abuja: Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, HOD Commercial Office (General Aviation Terminal). Contact: 0803 463 3527 or 0813 756 1615
