At the beginning of the trading week, the local stock market experienced a positive shift, with the All-Share Index rising by 0.08 percent to 106,621.91 basis points.
Despite this, market capitalization also grew by 0.08 percent to N66.77 trillion, adding N52.2 billion to investors’ portfolios.
However, sectoral performance was largely negative, as key sectors—Insurance, Oil & Gas, and Industrial Goods—posted losses.
On the other hand, the Banking and Consumer Goods indices recorded modest gains of 0.02 percent and 0.23 percent, respectively.

Market breadth reflected the overall uptrend, with 32 stocks advancing while 27 declined.
Leading the gainers were Eterna Oil, Transnational Corporation, FCMB Group, African Prudential, and ABC Transport, while VFD Group, International Energy Insurance, Cadbury, Cornerstone, and Honeywell Flour Mills topped the decliners’ list.
Trading activity was robust, with the number of deals, trading volume, and value surging by 22.28 percent, 4.52 percent, and 81.06 percent, respectively. In total, 364.97 million shares worth N17.63 billion were exchanged across 14,565 transactions.
