THE Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday acknowledged that it had received the list of eight names of commissioner-nominees submitted by the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for screening and confirmation.
The list which is the first batch was contained in the letter sent to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Honourable Edward Ubosi, signed by the State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Simon Ortuanya, dated August 19, 2019.
The nominees include: Greg Nnaji, former Commissioner of Science and Technology as well as Works and Infrastructure from Enugu-East Local Government, former Commissioner for Local Government, Chijioke Edoga from Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Prince Emeka Mamah, former Commissioner for Environment, from Igboeze North Local Government Area and former Commissioner for Lands, Solomon Onah from Udenu Local Government Area.

Others are: former Commissioner for Gender Affairs, Peace Nnaji, from Nkanu-East Local Government Area, former Commissioner for Water Resources, Charles Egumbge from Udi Local Government Area, former Commissioner for Transport, Vitus Okechi, from Igboeze South Local Government Area, former Head of Enugu Capital Territory Development Agency, Chidi Aroh from Igboetiti Local Government Area of the state.
The Speaker, Honourable Ubosi, after reading out the letter at the plenary session of the Assembly, directed the Clerk of the House to inform the nominees to make available their Curriculum Vitae (CV) to the House before the close of work on Wednesday.
It could be recalled that Governor Ugwuanyi had mandated stakeholders in the 17 local government areas that make up the state to nominate qualified persons from their localities for appointment as commissioners.
