The police post serving the Idogo/Yewa community, Ogun State which was donated by music icon, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has been razed by vandals who attacked the community.
The razed building which served as Idogo police post, was one of the give-back initiatives of the music maestro, during his 75th birthday anniversary.
Speaking on the incident, Obey-Fabiyi said that it was an unfortunate incident but called on youths to exercise patience.
“Attacking a security facility is an attack on the community. This is a peaceful town and hoodlums should not disrupt our peaceful coexistence. I want to appeal to all Nigerian youths to embrace peace and allow the government to attend to their demands,” he added.
Also reacting, president of Idogo Development Forum and the Aare Amuludun of the town, Oba Olomide Osoba said, “the incident is an unfortunate one and we are saddened by the burning and destruction of public and private properties.
The monarch of the town, Oba Saheed Olubiyi, regretted the incident, just as he noted that the perpetrators also vandalised the electric transformer in the town and the office of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) built by the music legend, among other things.
