As part of the efforts to ensure adequate security and safety of citizens during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Plateau State Police Command has deployed a total of 2,161 personnel to detect and prevent crime and traffic control.
The State Police Command in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogaba said the command has fine-tuned strategies to ensure a crime-free Eid-El-Kabir celebration across the state.
It enjoined people of the state to observed all the COVID-19 protocols as the federal and state government safety directives on the COVID-19 Pandemic are still in force adding that there will be prayers on all Eid grounds, Area/Ward Mosques with the exception of the Rukuba Road praying ground.
The Command further pointed out that Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 will be moving round to ensure compliance while there will be a total ban on the use of tricycles (Keke) during the period within Jos metropolis and Bukuru areas of the state.
“All recreational centres such as the National Museum, Zoo, Wildlife Park, etc in the state will be closed down, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The ban on the sale and use of fireworks such as knockout, bangers and other explosives is still in force and violators will face the wrath of the law,” he warned.
It implored parents and guardians to counsel their children not to indulge in drugs/substance abuse as well as any other form of anti-social activities and enjoined members of the public to be security conscious, give useful and timely information to the Police and other security agencies in order to curtail any breaches of the peace.
