Eid-el-Kabir: Niger gov felicitates all muslim faithful

Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central States Governor’s Forum (NCSGF), Alhaji Abubakar Bello has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in the country as they join other faithful across the globe to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and submission to Allah in his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail.

The Governor in a statement charged the Ummah to imbibe the teachings of Eid-el-Kabir and reflect on the great lessons of the festival of sacrifice which, he said, is a core tenet of the Islamic faith.

Governor Sani Bello said the celebration should remind the Muslim Ummah and, indeed, all humanity of the need to make personal sacrifices to enhance the common good and collective interests of the people.

He stressed the need for the Muslims to be submissive, obedient, patient and trust in Allah to direct and guide them to the right path as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to Allah’s command.

The Governor, however, noted that, although the dwindling economy of the nation is taking its toll on the people, it is nonetheless, rewarding to share and care for the less privileged and the vulnerable people in the society stressing that the festival calls for love towards humanity.

“The celebration encourages us to show kindness, love and help the needy as well as loyalty and obedience to constituted authorities. These are some of its unique tenets that should be reflected in our daily lives”, he added.

Meanwhile, Governor Sani Bello also used the occasion to urge all Nigerlites and, indeed, Nigerians to remain patient, trustful and support the APC-led administration in the country as it proffers a solution to the current economic downturn and security challenges.

He said his administration has continued to execute projects across the state and has also placed it on a trajectory of economic prosperity that will, in a few years from now, enhance the sustainable growth and development of the state.

The Governor, once again, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebrations and reminded the citizens of the need to be security-conscious and continue to assist security agencies with credible intelligence that will bring an end to armed banditry and other criminal tendencies in the state.
