Former governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has rejoiced with Nigerian christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration – the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
John Paul Akinduro, the former governor’s Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, said in a statement that Mimiko urged Nigerians to put behind them ethnic and religious scrimmage experienced during the just-concluded general elections, saying the country can only move forward in unity.
According to him, “There is no question about the fact that Nigeria is undergoing some teething issues often associated with fledgling democracy like ours but we shall overcome.
“The scripture puts it unequivocally in Romans 12: 5-10 ‘In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body’. Therefore, we must understand that we are one before God and, be our brothers keeper”
Mimiko enjoined all stakeholders in project Nigeria to eschew utterances and actions that are detrimental to the unity of the country as he wished all a happy Easter celebration.
