Dr Kayode Fayemi’s new job at 59

Former Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, clocked 59 recently and he spent the day reflecting on his life, his challenges, and triumphs.

The ex-Minister of Mines and Steel Development, who left government in 2023 at the end of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term, is now resident in the United Kingdom, where he works as a visiting professor in the School of Global Affairs, King’s College, London.

The politician said he loved the city of London where he schooled and claimed he found it easy to fit in as he now writes, reads, teaches, and learns more about life.

Fayemi, who explained that he only left public office and not the political scene, claimed he has been enjoying his life outside of government as he described the calmness and peace that now surrounds him.

Armed with a Ph.D. in War/Strategic Studies, Fayemi is presently working and planning to set up a policy institute; this, he hinted has been consuming more of his time and energy.
