THE Executive Vice Chairman / Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, on Thursday, decried the slow pace in nation’s growth and development, saying that it is in the national interest to harness potentials that exist in the information driven age through the deployment and exploitation of ICTs.
Danbatta, while speaking at the 46th convocation of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka ( UNN) as the Convocation lecturer, said the use of ICTs would facilitate socio-economic development and improvement of the human condition.
According to him, the implementation of ICT should not be seen simply as an introduction of new technology but a complete re-thinking of how the functions of the organisation can be achieved, stressing that success can only come when people are able and willing to change their working habits and thinking processes.
