Dogara delivers constituency to PDP, defeats APC

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara convincingly delivered his constituency to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the gubernatorial and State Assembly elections held yesterday. 
The Speaker ensured that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bagoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State where he hails from, Musa Wakili, won the state House of Assembly election by defeating the APC candidate.

 
While announcing the results of the elections on Sunday, the Returning Officer of the election in the area, Prof. Kawal Yadumma, declared that Musa Wakili polled the highest number of 17,231 votes to defeat his close rival of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Arkila Simon Taimako, who polled a total of 8,040 votes.
 
While also announcing the result of the governorship election, Kawal Yadumma declared that the candidate of the PDP, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, polled a total of 19,667 votes, while the APC candidate and the incumbent Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar polled a total of 7,442 votes.

It will be recalled that the Speaker not only delivered his constituency in the presidential and national assembly elections but won his reelection to the NASS.
