Sokoto State government has announced an additional eleven new positive cases of coronavirus in the state on Saturday.
A statement from the state ministry of health confirmed that with the eleven new cases recorded, the number of a positive case of COVID-19 in the state has so far jumped to 151.
The statement also disclosed that one more patient was was pronounced dead on Friday from the state isolation centre after battling the virus which brings the total number of discharged patients in the state to 15.
Meanwhile, the total number of discharged patients in the state according to the statement is not less than 116 patients, having concluded their treatment.
The total number of test carried out in the state so far also up to a total number of 823 out of which 670 of the tests were reported to be negative with no pending test as at the time of writing this report.
Meanwhile, the total number of active case in the state also move up to eighteen (18), which includes the new positive case of eleven patients.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for health and state chairman of Tasks Force against COVID-19 in the state, Dr Muhammed Ali Inname, has urged residents of the state to continue to observe all the health protocols to avoid being a victim of the disease.
He, however, appealed to residents to urgently notify any suspected case to the team while advising that being test positive of coronavirus is not a death sentence.
