Bauchi State has recorded 10 new cases of COVID-19 while six patients have fully recovered and have been discharged from the isolation treatment centre.
Also as of Wednesday, 10th June, one patient lost his life while he was receiving treatment while all his contacts have been line-listed for investigation following the development.
Information from the Bauchi COVID-19 situation report case management indicated that the state is now ranked 11 in the country with cases of COVID -19 just as a total of 116 samples are still awaiting to be confirmed from the laboratory and more samples are expected to be assembled from contacts of infected persons for investigation.
As of 10th June, 2020, the case fatality rate has shifted forward from 2.5% to 2.67%, it indicates an increase in fatalities, 1 person died after he was put on the ventilator while so far, 2,501 samples have undergone laboratory investigation out of which 374 were confirmed to have been infected with the COVID-19 in the state and already 230 have been recovered and discharged.

The information further contained that, “As citizens, we have a collective responsibility in tackling the community transmission of COVID-19 communities. We can reduce the spread by observing the protocols of preventive measures as identified by our able health personnel”.
“The government has since taken its responsibilities through intensifying case investigation, surveillance and contact tracing, and risk communication in order to protect people from COVID-19”, it added.
With the new development, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state so far is 374 while the total number of people still on the hospital’s admission for case management stands at 134.
