Youths of Ndokwa East council area of Delta state have been advised not to allow themselves to be used to destroy government institutions.
The Chairman of the council, Hon Joan Governor gave the advice in Ashaka during the evacuation of the rubbles of Ashaka burnt police station with the primary aim of rebuilding another station for a security presence in the community.
It will be recalled that Ndokwa East Divisional Police Station, Ashaka came under attack by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Sunday, 6th June 2021 setting the station ablaze, though there was no loss of life.
The officers operating at Ashaka now function from Kwale Divisional Police Station as a result of the incident.
Hon Governor said that as the chief security officer of the local government area, he was taking responsibility for rebuilding the police station through the local government council.
He said that those that perpetrated the act would be fished out to face the law, adding that investigation was ongoing and yielding results.
The council chairman advised parents to watch over their wards and ensure they do not engage in criminal activities, assuring that no stone would be left unturned to rid the local government area of criminals.
He averred that no right-thinking individual would wake up to destroy government property such as the police station meant for ensuring law and order was maintained in the society.
He condemned the activities of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and lamented that most of the youth were acting out of ignorance, saying that they had been brainwashed to think that there was a better future through nefarious activities.
