In its determined effort to ensure the security of lives and properties across the state through community policing system, Bauchi State Government has declared its interest to support local hunters in the state to enable them to be active in the promotion of peace in the society.
Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, made the remark at the Annual Salala festival day organised by Baushe Hunters held at IBB Square Bauchi over the weekend.
The governor said that empowering the local hunters will enable them to complement the efforts of security agencies in the protection of the lives and property of the citizens saying that the current insecurity in the country required the support and intervention of local hunters in order to assist in overcoming the challenges.

The governor who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Ladan Salihu, pledged to provide the necessary support to the local hunters to ensure a crime-free society.
He said: “I commend the organisers of this occasion for selecting Bauchi as the venue of the program, I implore you to discharge your assigned responsibilities in accordance with the constitution. We will provide you with office accommodation and vehicles as requested, this will no doubt ensure effective service delivery.”
Earlier, the National Chairman, Hunters Association of Nigeria, Malam Mohammed Usman Tole, said that the event is to enable the members to share ideas among them on the new methods of their operations.
Mohammed Usman Tole assured the governor of their support in order to rid the state out of criminal activities and called for unity and understanding among the members of the group so as to achieve the set objectives.
