THE Bishop of Diocesan of Owo, (Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion) Bishop Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to entrench good governance and policies that would put smiles on the faces of the Nigerian people who voted for him for his second term.
Fagbemi who gave this advice in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo state, during the 36th-anniversary celebrations of the Church urged Buhari to justified his re-election by reviewing his style of governance.
The clergy urged the President to appoint patriotic, knowledgeable, experienced, committed politicians and technocrats that can work hard to reposition the country within a short period to give the people of the country the positive change they deserved.
He specifically called on President Buhari not to be sectional in his appointment, and said capable hands should be appointed irrespective of their religion or ethnic background, saying the President should run an all-inclusive and participatory government.
Fagbemi said “I hope President Buhari who has been elected will actually review his style of doing things, so that in the coming dispensation all Nigerians would feel comfortable and happy to call him their President.
“I will be asking the President to actually bring together people who are qualify to help him in running government regardless of their religion or ethic background.

“President Buhari in the last four years had been attacked and abused of being sectional and being biased towards some ethnic group and i think he should look beyond that this time, as he is coming for his second term
“He should look beyond faith or ethnic in appointing people, so long you’re Nigeria you’re qualify for the position and can help things move forward, such person should be hired to move things forward and turn around the country”
He noted that “the economy is not in good shape, so many people are out of job, though it hasn’t started now but i think he must do whatever is possible to ensure that things are better for the people of this country in next few months.
“Things had been tough in the past four years and Buhari should change his gear and look for different approach and bring people together to let them feel that Nigeria has hope and that there is prospect for this country”
The clergy, however called on politician to refrain from “do and die politics” and violence in their quest to acquire political power, saying only God installs leaders and gives power and put people in positions.
