We must make integrity, honesty our watchword — (Most Reverend (Dr) Olusina Fape, Bishop of Remo and Archbishop of Lagos Province (Anglican Communion)
To God be the glory for the privilege of another Christmas Celebrations on earth. We have gradually come to the end of another year; and 2019 has been very eventful, especially being the year of general elections. As we celebrate Christmas, may the peace of Christ, the Prince of Peace whose birth we celebrate at this season fill our nation. God will revive our economy and bless our country with all resources needed to make Nigeria a great nation. Let us make integrity, honesty and hard work our watchword in the years ahead. May 2020 bring greater blessings to us all.
Christians should not lose faith in God –(Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Sword of the Spirit Ministries)
The birth of Jesus Christ has brought a cheering and joyous shift to a sagging and despondent world. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, no doubt, heralds the greatest tidings ever told to mankind. In Him, the whole world has hope. This is the more reason we should all cling unto Him for our ultimate redemption. In this festive season, Nigerians, particularly the Christian community, should not to lose their abiding faith in God because of challenges they may be going through as a people and a country. They should not be despair as a result of situation in the country. Nigerians should be wary of dream killers in the coming year. 2020 is a year of dream fulfillment and that God would position helpers for the people and the nation.
It is a season of thanksgiving to usher us into 2020 –(Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Founder and Presiding Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church)
I am pleased to wish all Christians and all Nigerians a fruitful Christmas and New Year celebrations. Christians should constantly give thanks to God in order to have unhindered access to God’s presence. Thanksgiving gave Christians access to God, hence the Lord said in Psalm 107:22: “And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.” Christmas is one of the most important times of the year. It reminds us of the birth of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. We celebrate His birth because it brought hope and salvation to us all. In this season of celebration, God will put something unique in our lives that will make us celebrate into 2020.
Christians must abide in Christ –(Apostle Dele Adekunbi Johnson, of Jesus Liberation Ministry Worldwide)
As we come into the Yuletide, remember that a child was born and a son was given to us; His name is Jesus Christ. He was born just to carry the sins of the whole world and die in our place. Therefore, there is no better way to celebrate Christmas than for Christ to be born in the manger of your heart in this season and forever. I urge all human to invite Him into their lives, then this Christmas will be different! I pray for all Nigerians that God’s gift shall not be estranged from them in Jesus name. There is a last-minute miracle with your name written on it and you will not miss it. I specially wish all Christians Merry Christmas and a great leap year.
Christmas, a time of great rejoicing–(Most Reverend Joseph Akinfenwa, Bishop of Ibadan Anglican Diocese)
“We celebrate the gift of God to mankind and as we rejoice let us trust God through prayers and perseverance for our travails will soon come to an end. It is unprofitable to partake of the eating, drinking and merrymaking that accompany Christmas but not receive the light of Christ. You must not play with physical Christmas lights, while your life continues to lack the spiritual light of Christ. Therefore, this Christmas week, please, receive the light of the world into your heart. Accept the good news of the gospel, yield your life to Jesus Christ, and experience the indescribable peace that those who dwell in the light always enjoy. May the joy and peace of Christmas be ours to enjoy always. Amen merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.”
View Christmas in new perspective –Pastor Abraham Akinosun, President, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Worldwide
“I urge Nigerians, especially Christians, to view Christmas in a new perspective instead of merrymaking alone.
“Christ came into the world to be a light. I admonished Nigerians to avail themselves of the opportunity of His birth by following Him faithfully and transparently in their daily endeavours. Anyone who believed in Christ will be strengthened and saved as well as comforted in all spheres of life. Christ is a blessing to His generation. Christ is the consolation to many people. He is our saviour and redeemer. He is the glory of Israel as well as comforter. I thank God for blessing every soul in the country, most especially, members of the church as well as everlasting solution procured for mankind.”
We must leave a sacrificial life, show love, be at peace in the society –Pastor Benjamin Ayoola Akano, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter
“On behalf of the CAN body, I admonish all Christians and all Nigerians to emulate the life of our Lord Jesus Christ by living a life of sacrifice as Jesus came to the world to reconcile humanity with God after the fall at the Garden of Eden. We are enjoying the goodness of God today through the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on behalf of all humanity. All Christians, not minding the denominations, must sacrifice, show love and be at peace in our society. I wish them all the goodness of God in the year 2020. We should all live in peace and love in Nigeria and beyond.”
Christmas is about love of God to mankind –Right Reverend Emmanuel Adekunle, Bishop of Egba Diocese, Anglican communion
“Christmas is about celebrating the love of God to mankind and the redemption of the whole world. The birth of Jesus Christ signifies the reconciliation of God and man. After the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, God sought for a way to redeem man from eternal damnation and the birth of Jesus Christ was the only gift God could give to man out of love. Christmas should be celebrated as a moment to evangelise to those that are yet to know about Christ. It should be time where the underprivileged should be shown love by giving them gifts. Christmas should be a moment for Christians to ponder on what God and Christ have come to do for the world and not a moment to be frolicking around.
