The Senator had been accused of forging his academic certificates, ranging from his secondary school leaving certificate while also making claims to several university degrees.
But an Abuja High Court, sitting in Apo, had last Friday, dismissed the suit filed by one Uchenna Nnadi against the Senator.
The judge, Justice Valentine Ashi in his judgement held that the plaintiff had failed to lead the court with further evidence.
While addressing newsmen in Abuja, President of the group, Etuk Bassey stated that Mr Uba’s victory substantiated the groups’ claims that the accusations were championed by politicians.
“The leadership of the Coalition of Civil Society Groups observed that by this judgment all persons parading as civil society organizations being used by the enemies of democracy to distract the Distinguished Senator Andy Uba has been put to shame,” it said.
He also warned other groups as well as individuals to be weary of politicians urging them to investigate information and interrogate the claims and motives of politicians who hire them to do their bid before springing to action.
Bassey added that “the victory of Andy Uba at Abuja High Court has vindicated the Coalition of civil society group on their earlier call to the judiciary to jettison the allegations from some faceless organizations that are being used by unscrupulous politicians.”
Consequently, he noted that the judiciary has with the judgement, restored the hope of the common man even as he urged them to resist being used as political instruments.
