As lawyers and party supporters await the arrival of the five-member Justices of the Court of Appeal sitting of Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), to deliver judgment in the petition filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23, general election, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari just walked in to the court.
The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, the minister of state for Niger Delta, Festus Keyamo (SAN) and the Plateau State governor, Simon Dalong are all in court for the judgment.
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) is also on ground.
Atiku and his party want the Tribunal to annul the election of President Buhari on the ground that he was not qualified to have contested the February 23 election, giving false information of his certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), violation of electoral act, among others.
There is heavy security presence within the court.
