Buhari empowers constituents with aquaculture training, fish post harvest technology

SENATOR representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Fatai Buhari, has facilitated an empowerment programme in the form of value chain capacity building on aquaculture for youth and women in the district.

Senator Buhari, in partnership with the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), Lagos facilitated a week-long training on aquaculture production and fish post-harvest technology for about 100 youth and women duly selected from Ogbomoso North and South Local Government as well as Oriire and Olorunsogo Local Government Areas.

The well-attended training workshop which was coordinated by the Director of NIOMR, Dr. Gbola Akande, took place simultaneously in Ogbomoso and Igbeti respectively.

Dr. Oludare Adeogun, the Assistant Director, NIOMR who represented Dr. Akande made the training sessions very lively for the participants, drawn from different backgrounds.
