The young musician sat for the examinations as a student of Regent Secondary School, Abuja, two years ago and immediately travelled to United States where she has continued with her studies at Grier School, Pensylvania, preparatory to a varsity admission.
Soaleze became the first Nigerian teenager to win the Teens Favourite Award for her debut album, “The Fifth Horseman”, produced by Grammy Award winner and sound engineer, Mark Fischer, in 2014.
In a brief chat with Saturday Tribune when she arrived Nigeria for the award and her holiday, Soaleze expressed gratitude to God for her success, just as she thanked her parents for supporting her career and also her academic pursuits. “The result is what we have all seen with the “Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award” that I will be receiving in two weeks time. I’m excited,” she said.
Especially happy that she has now gained admission into the popular Ivy League Penn State University, Soaleze said: “this won’t stop my interest in music at all. I am always working on music, but studies come first for now,” she added.
