Embattled Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has been arrested by security agents and banished from the ancient city of Kano.
This is following Emir Sanusi’s dethronement by the State Executive Council headed by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Monday.
Sources told Tribune Online that he has been taken to an undisclosed place in Nasarawa State.

Another source inside the palace hinted that he may have been banished to Nasarawa State.
Recall that Governor Ganduje gave the order, dethroning Emir Sanusi, on Monday following a State Executive Council.
The government noted that the order was necessary following Ganduje’s refusal to obey “lawful instructions and authorities.”
