Kaduna Electric Distribution Company has said the current outage in four of its franchise states is due to the strike action embarked on by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its affiliations.
The franchise states are Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara.
According to the statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi noted that the action necessitated the shutting down of all 33 KV feeders by the striking workers.
While regretting the current situation, the statement declared that it hoped the current impasse between the labour unions and the federal government would be resolved soon.
“We regret to announce that the outage being experienced in our franchise states is due to the strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Labour Congress and its affiliate unions.
“The action has necessitated the shutting down of all 33KV feeders by the striking workers.
“We hope the impasse between the federal government and the Unions shall be resolved soonest so that power supply can be restored.”
