The Benue State Government on Friday decried the state of Commissioners’ quarters in Makurdi, describing it as a death trap that needs to be fixed.
The State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Isaac Tiza stated this on Friday when he played host to members of correspondents chapel.
He noted that skeletal work has commenced at the quarter just as he spoke on government plans to beautify Makurdi, the capital city as Christmas is approaching.
Tiza said, “We are making frantic efforts to make the town look beautiful before the yuletide. We will try to make our city get back its glory.
“As for Commissioners’ quarters, the place is like death trap but we have started skeletal work there”.
The Commissioner further hinted that the renovation of the state secretariat will commence soon, stating that efforts are underway.
He called on people of the state to join efforts with the state government to make the state work for the betterment of every citizen.
