In alignment with the vision of Taraba State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, to boost tourism, the organisers of the Belle Hunting Festival in Zing Local Government Area are set to rebrand the annual event to attract greater patronage starting in 2026.
During a town hall presentation by Mr. Yinka Adejuwon of Twice As Much Entertainment, the Chairman of the Mumuye Community Development Association (MCDA), Francis Boroma, expressed gratitude to the company for its unwavering commitment to the project over 12 years.
“Your persistence is finally bearing fruit,” Boroma stated. “We are thrilled about your plans to leverage the festival for creating jobs for our unemployed youth. This is the first time professionals have guided us on promoting our traditional events to attract visitors to the state. Your focus aligns perfectly with our governor’s priority to generate employment for our people.”
Highlighting the statistics behind the initiative, Adejuwon noted that 65% of Taraba State’s 4.2 million residents are youth, with over 1.1 million unemployed individuals aged 35 and below.
“This data drives our mission to utilize the festival as a platform for job creation,” Adejuwon explained. “While I can’t disclose all the details yet, our strategies are designed to contribute significantly to the government’s ambitious N3 billion revenue target for tourism. In just a few months, we aim to establish 100 companies within the creative industry, employing at least 100,000 youth during each festival season.”
The upcoming edition of the Belle Hunting Festival is scheduled for January 30, promising to set the stage for a transformative cultural and economic milestone in Taraba State.
