The former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has charged the new Olota of Otta, Oba (Professor) Adeyemi Obalanlenge, to be wary of sycophants on issues relating to the administration of the ancient town.
He gave the charge during the presentation of staff of office to the traditional ruler, recently in Otta, in Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government Area, that the reigning over indigenes and non-indigenes of the cosmopolitan town requires wisdom.
Obasanjo advised Oba Obalanlege to be a father to all the residents irrespective of their tribe, religious background, colour and political affiliation.
He said, ” Otta town is fast growing with the population of people residing in it and the volume of industrial firms springing up on a daily basis shows that you have a great task at hand in administering the people.

“You have to be wary of counsel from people. Some people are fond of discrimination, they will come to you, be wary of them. Otta town during your reign will continue to witness progress. Your reign will be peaceful.”
In his remarks, the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, called on the new monarch to accelerate socioeconomic development status of the town.
Amosun who presented the staff of office to Obalanlege as the 20th Olota of Otta advised him to embrace the four newly crowned coronet Obas for the four quarters in Otta land by seeing them as partners in progress.
The governor urged the monarch to complement the effort of the State government towards the development of the entire Aworiland.
The monarch in his acceptance speech promised to improve upon the achievements recorded by past Olotas.
