President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has tasked the 478 graduates of the 6th Regular Course Cadet (RCC) of the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, to serve Nigeria with honor, courage, compassion, and to be good ambassadors of the country.
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, delivered this message on behalf of President Tinubu while addressing the commissioning of the officers who graduated from the four faculties of the Academy on Saturday.
Tinubu urged the graduating cadets to avoid the excessive abuse of power in their duty posts, emphasizing, “You should bear in mind that you are serving our nation.”
Tinubu also stated that his administration is working assiduously toward improving the welfare of police personnel, noting that this will encourage them in their duty of protecting the lives and property of citizens.
Earlier, the Commandant of the Academy highlighted the progress and achievements of the institution in terms of curriculum, training, and infrastructure.
In his speech, the Commandant of the Police Academy Wudil, AIG Sadiq Abubakar, disclosed that out of the cadets, seven graduated with first-class honors and 128 with upper second-class honors.
They graduated after undergoing five years of rigorous academic and professional training, he added.
The Commandant disclosed that the academy is set to commence degree programs in criminology, security, and education, adding that it is working toward establishing a faculty of engineering.
He added that all the courses being undertaken at the academy are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
