The Special Adviser to the governor of Abia State on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, has hinted that his principal will support the proposed Big Brain Naija reality television show.
A week ago, Nigerian South African-based businessman, Charles Awuzie, proposed Big Brain Naija after expressing his disappointment with a viral video making the rounds on social media depicting Big Brother (BB) Naija housemates flunking simple questions bordering on current and national issues.
Awuzie had told the media that, “After watching the video, I simply registered the domain ‘BigBrainNaija dot com’ as an intellectual alternative to Big Brother Naija.”
Reacting to the proposal, Ekeoma stated on his Facebook page that Abia State governor, “Dr Alex Otti, will support this without qualms.”
Reacting to Ekeoma’s post, Awuzie – who is from Abia State – said, “Learning that the people’s governor, Dr Alex Otti, will support Big Brain Naija has made my day. I am coming home.”
However, the proposed Big Brain Naija show has polarised Nigerians on social media.
Some are in support of it because they believe BBNaija lacks moral and creative value. Others, while in support of Big Brain Naija noted that BBNaija has its place as an entertainment show.
One of the proponents of Big Brian Naija, Kon Tat, suggested that the show should be located in Abia State, just like BBNaija is in Lagos.
