THE Bayelsa State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon Cleopas Moses has extolled National Caretaker, Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, for deploying conventional powers to ratifying the state executive council of the party at the just concluded non-elective national convention in Abuja.
This is coming on the heels that mischief makers had pushed for the dissolution of the state party exco for their selfish aim, but against their desire it was ratified by at the national convention.
This is contained in a statement signed by the State Party Boss, Cleopas Moses and Publicity Secretary, Osom Macbere made available to journalists in Yenagoa.
Noting the exercise in futility by mischief makers, Moses posited that the State Party Executive is ever strong and united, and assured the NCC of the its readiness to work tirelessly to ensure that the party grows from strength to strength in the state and at the national level.
Moses recalled that it was the same mischief makers that tried to no avail to use Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) to destabilized Bayelsa State in the build-up of 2015 General Election, though they failed woefully and decamped to All Progressive Congress (APC) and hatched another failed plot to distract the party candidate (Governor Dickson) from a well-deserved second term.
He noted that the state exco is not oblivious of their evil scheming, adding that having failed to stop the governor’s re-election; they have re-grouped to undemocratically take over the state party structure ahead of 2019 with the aim of foisting a candidate on the party to succeed the present governor.
Said he “Their plans have failed, that these anti-democratic forces calculating to hijack State structure to crudely impose candidates of their choice including the party for 2020 polls shall be resisted by the real PDP family”
Moses, however, informed those who left the Party and are desirous of returning that the party must subject themselves to the constitutional process of re-joining which is ongoing and managed by the state executive members.
He warned those desirous of a return to jettisoned route laid by imposters; and follow the real route in order not to allow political jobbers and miscreant mislead them again.
To this end, the State PDP Boss, extolled the Restoration Administration of Governor Dickson for placing the state on the paths of Development, peace and prosperity, urging him not to be distracted as Bayelsans and the Ijaw Nation are solidly behind him.
