Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir has declared that his administration is constructing a 5.2km dual carriageway in Azare to honour the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouk II.
The Governor made the declaration on Monday while flagging off the construction of the road in Azare, headquarters of Katagum LGA.
Bala Mohammed who appreciated the love and support of the Katagum Emirate Council to his administration, stated that the 5.2 km road was suggested to him by the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Umar Faruk II.
He pointed out that the road when completed will open a new face of Azare township urban development and also ease transportation for people.
The Governor added his administration has prioritized Critical infrastructure development projects for the economic and agricultural advancement of the state.
He also affirmed his administration resolved to work with traditional rulers towards disseminating actual community demands dividend of democracy in the state.
Bala Muhammad said that the political and judicial period is over, therefore, his administration will now continue to actualize the mandates of his ‘My Bauchi project’ agenda.
In a word of appreciation, the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Umar Faruk II commended the Governor for actualising the long-awaited dream of the Katagum people.
He also affirmed the support of the Katagum Emirate and its people to the Governor for the socio-economic development of the state.
In his remarks, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Katagum LGA, Musa Azare commended the Governor for the project saying that the people of Katagum LGA will remain ever grateful to the Governor.
He said that the dual carriageway will further expand the Azare township and will upgrade its status as the second largest city after Bauch, the State capital.
The 5.2km dual carriageway way will start from the Misau road roundabout and terminate at the Emir drive junction and it is to be executed by Mother Cat Construction company.
