Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has lamented the hardship the state’s people are currently experiencing due to the harsh economic recession.
He expressed the determination of his administration to introduce effective policies and programs aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people.
The Governor made the assertion on Tuesday in Jama’are, the headquarters of Jama’are LGA, as part of the week-long activities for the inauguration of road construction projects in some parts of the state.
Bala Mohammed expressed concern about the rising prices of essential commodities, which are subjecting the citizens to untold hardship, forcing them to consume items they would not ordinarily eat.
He assured, however, that his administration is determined to introduce measures that would improve commercial activities to address the current challenges.
According to him, the ongoing construction of rural roads aims to connect communities to their farmlands and enable the smooth movement of goods and services.
He urged the people of Jama’are Emirate to cooperate with the contractors handling the project in the area to facilitate timely and successful completion.
The Governor also informed the people that the community was strategically located around the Jama’are River, hence the need to undertake more projects for agricultural development.
While charging the construction company to ensure the timely completion of the project, he called on the people to cooperate with the contractor and endure the minor inconveniences the project might cause.
He also directed the State Ministry of Education to immediately fence the Government Girls Secondary School for the security of the students.
The Works and Transport Commissioner, Hon Ibrahim Galadima, and the representative of Mother Cat Nigeria Limited, Engineer Khadi Hani, assured that they would work tirelessly to ensure the success of the project.
The chairman of the caretaker committee of the Jamaari Local Government Area, Muhammad Inuwa, the Special Adviser on Pilgrim Affairs, Hon Shehu Wadaji Jama’are, among others, appreciated the Governor for awarding the contract and pledged their unwavering loyalty and support.
Responding on behalf of the benefiting communities, the Emir of Jama’are Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Wabi commended the Governor for the project and pledged readiness to support all policies aimed at improving the well-being of the people.
