WIFE of the former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Mrs Titi Abubakar, has urged voters in Kwara state to go and collect their permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) ahead of February 16 and March 2019 general elections in the country.
Speaking at the PDP women rally for Atiku/Obi presidential campaign organisation in Ilorin on Tuesday, Mrs Abubakar also asked voters to wait till results are announced on election days to safeguard rigging.
The wife of the PDP presidential candidate said that her husband’s clamour for the restructuring of the country is aimed at bringing freedom to the federating units in Nigeria.
“I have brought you a message of hope. I am assuring you that the Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi presidency and vice presidency will signal the end of unemployment and poverty in the country.
“The refusal of President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the Electoral Bill is a design to rig the forthcoming elections. I urge all of us to vote and guard our votes jealously. After the counting of the votes at the polling units, I want you to follow them to the collation centres.
“They will come to you with money wanting to buy your PVCs from you. Collect the money from them and refuse to exchange your PVCs with money.
“My husband has great plans for the youth as he is an employer of labour. Our youths are not lazy at all. He has assured of wiping away tears from the faces of the youths.
“They claim to be fighting corruption, but it was during President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Atiku Abubakar that all the anti-graft agencies were established”, she said.
Earlier, Mrs Margret Obi hailed the women for turning out en masse for the rally, appealing to them to go and collect their PVCs.
“We also appeal to the women to come out massively and cast their votes for the PDP candidates at all levels. PDP is the only party that guarantees lifting us out of poverty, provision of education and assured future for our children,” wife of PDP vice presidential candidate said.
