Association lauds Ododo’s transformative agenda in Kogi

Media practitioners under the Kogi Central Media Practitioners Association have commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his transformative agenda in the state.

The President of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa-Amoka, expressed this commendation during a courtesy visit to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Isa Ismail, in Lokoja.

He praised the governor’s commitment to the welfare of workers, infrastructural development, and security, describing it as unparalleled.

Alhaji Isa-Amoka, a former state chairman of the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, informed the Special Adviser that the group was planning a national media summit and sought government support to actualise the event.

He also appreciated the Special Adviser for ensuring comprehensive publicity for government programmes and policies. Alhaji Isa-Amoka pledged the association’s dedication to disseminating information that would promote Governor Usman Ododo’s administration and foster unity among the state’s diverse ethnic groups.

Alhaji Adeiza Momoh Jimoh, General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM Lokoja and a founding member of the group, commended Governor Ododo’s administration for its efforts, particularly in improving the welfare of the less privileged. He encouraged the governor to continue fostering unity, especially among the people of the central senatorial district.

Hajia Nana Hauwa Yusuf, the Director General of Radio Kogi and the first female DG of the station, expressed gratitude to the governor for her appointment and the appointment of other group members to key positions within his administration. She emphasised the media’s commitment to promoting the government’s initiatives.

In his remarks, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Isa Ismail, thanked the association for their visit. He noted that Governor Ododo’s administration had implemented a media agenda based on a bottom-to-top approach, prioritising local media over external sources.

He assured that his office, pivotal in amplifying government activities, would continue collaborating with the association to ensure the administration’s success.

Isa Ismail emphasised that Governor Ododo was building upon the achievements of his predecessor, focusing on infrastructure, human capacity development, security, health, and education.
