The Arewa Grassroots Network for Credible Leadership (AGNCL) has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing Shamseldeen Ogunjimi as the Acting Accountant-General of the Federation.
In a statement signed by Adamu Wakil Abubakar, the group hailed the decision as a strategic move that will transform Nigeria’s public finance system.
AGNCL noted that Ogunjimi’s impressive credentials, including a PhD in Accounting and over three decades of experience in public sector finance, accounting, and governance, make him the ideal candidate for the role.

His extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, particularly his role as Director of Financial Reforms, Finance, and Accounts at the Office of the Accountant-General, positions him to lead fiscal reforms and promote transparency in government finances.
Abubakar also emphasized Ogunjimi’s international recognition for his expertise in public finance and his unwavering commitment to accountability and transparency.
The AGNCL urged Ogunjimi to stay focused on his vision for a more efficient and transparent public finance system, recognizing that his appointment comes at a pivotal time in Nigeria’s economic history.
The statement further commended President Tinubu for his dedication to good governance and his efforts to appoint competent individuals to steer the country’s development.
The AGNCL encouraged the President to continue prioritizing appointments based on the skills and experience needed to propel Nigeria’s economic growth.
