The newly elected Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja has lauded party patriots for their support during the just concluded national convention of the PDP where he emerged as deputy national chairman.
According to a release made available by his media aide, Bamitale Ibraheem, Arapaja said: “Words cannot quantify how much I appreciate the unprecedented support received from you before, during and after the just-concluded special national convention.
“Worthy of note is our collective decision to speak in one voice while choosing a new set of people who will through their productive styles of leading rescue Nigeria from the shackles and manacles of oppression.
“It is understandable that we are a human institution where a premium is placed on democracy. Contests will come, winners will emerge while administrative and politics commence.
“Permit me to state that politicking is over and it is time to set aside our differences while we wholeheartedly work for our party.
“We must however begin to appraise all the past events while we activate all necessary machineries on our journey to have a formidable party with one mission to rescue our dear country.
“Special appreciation to all his excellencies and, most importantly, Governor Seyi Makinde for his belief in me. I promise never to deviate from our party’s collective core values. The trust he has in me shall always be justified, Insha Allah.”
Arapaja ended his statement by emphasising that “it’s time to rescue Nigeria.”
