He emphasised the need for sermons of balanced doctrine, stating that “This is the time they must be careful, and ask God to help them in the course of doing His work.”
He stated this at the 2018 Trinity Ordination and commissioning of lay readers held at St. James Anglican Church, Benin City.
“We need to be cautious of what we preach. It can be recorded. So, this is a time we must be careful, and ask God to help us. This is the time to preach the right and balanced doctrine. Anglican priests need to pray more than ever before. They need to study deeper in the word; it is also a time that loyalty and submission will stand them out, he stated.

“No matter the level of education, they have to remain humble to higher authority. The Anglican Church is a church of authority, where loyalty and humility will single you out.”
He restated the need to recognise the important position of the laity and called for prayers for the church.
