The leadership of the Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria, Amasea branch, and over 105 markets under the umbrella of the Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) have passed a vote of confidence in Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, endorsing his second-term bid ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
The endorsement was declared on Saturday at Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha, during an event tagged “A Day of Celebration with Anambra Traders in Appreciation of Soludo’s Good Works.”
The chairman of the cattle traders, Alhaji Bello Magari, told journalists after the event that their unanimous support for Soludo’s re-election was in appreciation of the state government’s business policies and infrastructure development, which have supported their trades. Magari appealed to the governor to continue his support for the welfare of his members.

In his remarks, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to the traders and pledged to sustain ongoing reforms.
“I have been intentional in pushing for a recreated and regenerated Anambra. Since assuming office, we have not borrowed a kobo despite ongoing projects, and we will not lose focus,” he said.
The governor also disclosed plans to harmonise levies and taxes to prevent multiple taxation, stressing that petty traders, hawkers, and barrow pushers remain exempted from daily tolls.
He further urged traders to uphold the values of hard work and warned youths against the lure of “get-rich-quick” schemes.
The ASMATA President General, Chief Humphrey Anuna, said traders had prospered under Soludo’s administration, citing peace in the markets and youth empowerment initiatives such as the “One Youth, Two Skills” program.
In their contribution, the Patrons of ASMATA, Chief Jude Nwankwo, and Chief Jude Agumadu, praised Soludo’s achievements in urban renewal, infrastructure, education, and security, describing them as transformative.
The event also featured a donation of ₦10 million to the governor as transport and logistics support for his campaign.
