
AHEAD of the forthcoming Governorship election in Anambra State, the newly registered Action Democratic Party (ADP) has set up a 10-man Committee to implement Its Action Plan to ensure a successful outing at the poll.
This was contained in a statement made available to news men yesterday by its National Secretary, Dr James Okoroma
According to the statement, the Committee is headed by former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Roland Owie while Dr Okoroma would serve as its Secretary.
The Committee is being saddled with the responsible of fashioning out the guidelines for the Party’s Governorship Primaries billed for this Month.
He stated that members of the Committee had already commenced work and would soon announce a date for the sale of Expression of Interest Forms for the election.
While assuring that the ADP would make a difference in the election, Dr Okoroma expressed optimism that the Anambra people would give the ADP a chance.
This came just as Dr Okoroma advised people of the state to reject both the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as according to him, the two Parties have nothing new to offer the people of the state
He disclosed that the ADP has over seven Governorship Aspirants who have already indicated interest to run on the Party’s platform.
Dr Okoroma who is also the National secretary of the Party further stated that the ADP would conduct direct primaries for the governorship in accordance with the provisions of the Party’s Constitution.
Other members of the Committee are: Senator Chris Ukpabi, Mrs Nike Jones, Chief Kingsley Nnalue, Prince Edobor Oghosa, Bishop Stella Sheidun, Col (Hon) Ben Oboho (Rtd), Dr D. D. Kokong and Bar David Bichi.
