Anambra govt to train 100 day-care proprietors on child management

No fewer than 100 day-care proprietors are to be trained by the Anambra state government under the ministry of Women and children affairs, as part of efforts of the Federal Government towards solving the problem of child theft and abuse in day-care centres across the country.
The training programme, which had already taken off in many states of the federation, would expose the trainees on how to protect and manage the challenges attached in taking proper care of a child during school hours.
The Special Adviser to the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano on women and children matters, Hon. Onyeka Ebelebe, said during the commencement of the training in Awka, Anambra State yesterday, that it had become necessary to equip the proprietors with skills following the discovery that children are been stolen from the daycare centres across the country due to lack of  proper training on the part of the owners and management of this centres.
According to him,  the challenges represented a clear danger as it threatened the attainment of key government policies.
He said the purpose of the training is to educate the participants on how they can operate in a good working relationship with the state government in term of social amenities needed for the upkeep of this centres, like CCTV installation, the building of electrical fans, first aid facilities in case of emergency, among others.
Ebelebe who also disclosed that the 100 trainees were duly registered with the state government, urged other proprietors who are yet to register across the state to key into the training for the interest of a better society.
He added that the government will also provide every beneficiary with starter packs to ensure that all the beneficiaries run their businesses with ease.
On his part,  a consultant, with the ministry, Dr Emeka Ejide, who was the resource person, said the training will enable the trainees to showcase their passion for children.
He advising the trainees to be determined to succeed by remaining focused.
