The death of Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Lamidi Adeyemi has been identified as a loss of the living embodiment of culture, tradition and history of the Yorubaland.
This description was given by the Akosin of Yorubaland and CEO, TILT Group, Chief Habeeb Okunola in his condolence message to the family of the late paramount ruler. people and government of Oyo State over the death of the custodian of Yoruba history and tradition.
According to Chief Okunola, the late monarch was not only a father to the people of Oyo but the generality of people in Yorubaland going by his unique way of relating with people and contributing to their upliftment; not minding cultural, religious, tribal and economic differences.
He posited that the death of Alaafin came at a time He is most needed to consolidate Oyo State and Nigeria to become peaceful and secure human societies.

Akosin condoled with the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Oyomesi, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, and the people of Oyo town; particularly the immediate family of Oba Adeyemi over the demise of the “exceptional and progressive Oba in Yorubaland.”
“Kabiesi Alaafin no doubt came to this world, saw a lot of things and conquered numerous ones which he used to edify and empower not only his subjects but every being he related with in the capacity of a traditional ruler,” Chief Okunola disclosed.
He prayed that God be with the family His Imperial Majesty left behind, and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss of someone so dear to them.
Chief Okunola also prayed that God forgive the shortcomings of the late Alaafin and reward all his deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
