After coughing up N7.5 million as ransom, abducted Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr Chike Onyemenam, has regained his freedom in Delta.
This is coming in spite of an earlier reported denial of the lawyer’s abduction by authorities of the Delta State Police Command.
Onyemenam was reportedly released to his family on Saturday after the payment of the ransom, a family source told a local online medium on Monday.
Onyemenam, it will be recalled, was abducted at gunpoint on Monday, September 16, 2019, at Utulu junction along Benin- Asaba expressway in Issele-Azagba near Asaba, the Delta State capital.
TribuneOnline reported that the abductors, thereafter, contacted his family members, demanding N15 million ransom for his release.

“The SAN was released around Ubulu-Uku axis after the family pleaded for his release.
“The abductors finally reduced the ransom from N15 million to N7.5 million which was paid before he was released.
“We thank God he was not hurt; as I speak to you now, he is fine,” the family source told Warri Today on Monday.
