The Senate has approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nomination of Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman for appointment as the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The Senate confirmation at its plenary on Thursday was sequel to the consideration and adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Senator representing Niger North, Abubakar Sani Bello.

Checks revealed that President Tinubu had last August, through a statement by his former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, nominated Prof Usman for the position and subsequently transmitted a letter to the Senate for confirmation.
Senator Bello in his report, said following the screening conducted by his committee, his Committee was convinced that Prof. Usman deserved the appointment of Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON.
