
The seven women, who died in a fatal accident while returning from a relative’s wedding ceremony last Saturday, will be laid to rest in Bomadi, Delta State, on Wednesday.
The deceased were reportedly returning from a wedding outing in Agbor when the Toyota Sienna they were travelling with somersaulted and plunged into the culvert of a river.
Nine occupants were said to be onboard the vehicle.
The space bus crashed at around 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, along Orogun Road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
The women said to be from Agorodei Peile Quarters in Bomadi community of Delta State, were returning from the wedding of their sister at Agbor, when the incident occurred.
No fewer than seven persons (women) were confirmed dead on the spot, including the driver.
Two commuters, who were, however, rushed to a hospital in Ughelli, reportedly survived the crash.
In a burial handbill for the deceased women sighted by our reporter, their names were given as Blessing Akpokabowei, 28, Fresh Akabolouseigha, 46, Fresh Aleigiai-Ere, 47 and Bridget Teibogiren, 53.
Others are Mrs Mariana Donbrate, 53, Mary Pricilia Mieyebo, 56 and Rose AladinDonbraye, 71.
An indigene of Bomadi, Prince Perekeme Bonny, told journalists that the deceased will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
“It’s a great loss in Bomadi town. Seven beautiful, vibrant ladies dead at a motor accident on their way back home, from their sister marriage ceremony at Agbo and after everything they were returning home when the motor tumbled and plunged into the culvert of a river.
“Two of the eight ladies survived and seven ladies died. All is from Agorodei peile Quarters, BOMADI federated Urban community,” he wrote.
