No fewer than 26 physically-challenged persons drawn from across the 25 local government areas in Delta State have been empowered.
The empowerment was at the instance of the 50th birthday of Ambassador Solomon Okowa through his foundation Ambassador Solomon Okowa Foundation (ASOF) at his Asaba residence after a Thanksgiving service hèld at Dominion City Church in Asaba.
Speaking on reasons for the rare gesture, Okowa, who’s a younger brother of the Governor of Delta State, Senator Okowa, said he was motivated to give and assist humanity because God has shown mercy on him and his entire family.

Amb. Okowa, besides feting the physically-challenged, dolled out food items such as bags of rice worth half a million naira and cash gifts to them.
Okowa, who’s the Managing Director of Solointergraterd Concepts Ltd and entertainer appealed to Nigerians to do the same for humanity.
“I am calling on well placed and privileged Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers by giving a helping hand to the less privileged in the society.
“I was motivated by the need to serve. I sincerely appreciate God for giving me the opportunity to give to people on this occasion of my 50th birthday celebrations.
“I do not have any other motive behind my action,” he noted, vowing to do more for the course of humanity.
The event was well attended by family members, invited guests and other friends and associates of the Okowas, just as recipients of the gifts lauded and prayed for the donor and celebrant.
