She also appealed to relevant body to ensure completion of the Mausoleum.
The mausoleum of the late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe (Owelle of Onitsha) embarked upon by the Federal Government as his final resting place, is yet to be completed 21 years after his death.
She made the plea at the 75th birthday anniversary of Dr Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu, member, Board of Trustees, BoT of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), in Abuja.
According to her, successive administrations had made efforts to complete the mausoleum at his Zik’s country home in Onitsha, but to no avail.
She said the completion is imperative to ensure the peaceful rest of the deceased.
Her words; “I have one request to make, please I am begging that whosoever is responsible, let the resting place of Azikiwe be completed, do that so that he will rest in peace.”
Mrs Azikiwe who spoke on behalf of former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and Lady Aguiyi Ironsi at the event, further advocated for the plight of widows in the country saying;”something should be done to take care of we widows, so that we can leave long to enjoy the Nigeria that our husbands fought for.”
